Serve & Engage
Allegheny Highland Association of REALTORS®’ services effectively add member value by offering relevant and innovative programs that increase professionalism, competency, and member engagement.
Advocate
Allegheny Highland Association of REALTORS®’ local legislative activities provide value to members and the community, protect private property rights, and utilize the REALTORS® Party.
Govern & Lead
Allegheny Highland Association of REALTORS®’ service to the community and its role as the voice of local real estate consistently increase the association’s visibility and influence.
OUR HISTORY
The Allegheny Highland Association of REALTORS® was formed under the name of the Altoona Real Estate Exchange, incorporated in March 1915. The organization has changed names four times involving a merger with Blair and Bedford County Boards of REALTORS®. The first formal multiple listing system was formed in 1981 and Allegheny Highland Association of REALTORS®’ Multiple Listing Service (AHARMLS) is a wholly owned subsidiary owned by the Association.
We are a trade organization whose primary members are licensed real estate professionals. As a member of “AHAR”, each REALTOR® also belongs to the Pennsylvania Association of REALTORS®
and the National Association of REALTORS.
Membership in AHAR is voluntary and is open to active real estate licensees in the state of Pennsylvania. In addition, Affiliate members offer services to real estate practitioners. These members may take advantage of many of the programs and services offered to REALTOR® members.
